repost of one of first poems. I was writting under pj then.

Where Roses Grow

I asked my God to help me
As I faced a challenge for my life
He said, I will my child,
I'll be your buffer through this strife
But let me do it my way
for I know what is best,
I'll get you through to the other side
of this faith-growing test.
But Lord, your way is often long
and hard to understand.
Can you not bring right to all
with just the touch of your hand?
I can my child and often do
when my purpose it fulfills,
But sometimes the long and hard road
best suits my perfect will.
Smooth stones make the path easy,
some places will be an easy go,
But often the thorny path is best
because that's where roses grow.

This is wonderful Phyllis. Just what I needed to read. This would be perfect for an encouragement greeting card.
