Who is to blame when things go horribly wrong?

Be Patient With God

When God says be patient
it is often hard to do
If suffering is your plight
you want His rescue
When life becomes abysmal
and pain a constant foe
and you reach toward Heaven
because there's no place else to go
Relief is what you're seeking
from the constant pain you're in
And you know the only way
is for God to step in
But what if there's no answer
to the many prayers you pray
and you continue in your suffering
day after weary day
Should we shut the door to Heaven
where we thought our answer lay
Is God's silence an indication
that there's no use to pray?
When Jesus asked the Father
"Please take this cup from me"
he also prayed I want your will
whatever it may be
For the Son realized
that in God's perfect plan
he must pay the price
for the redemption of man
Our sight is short in time
We can't see how long we'll live
But God knows all the days
to each that He will give
And he has a plan for us
perfect for each day
that will bring good to all
if His will has its way
But we all step outside
the path He lays for us
and cross others' paths
which interferes and disrupts
It is our choices then
that causes imperfection and delays
in the plan that God intended
to give us joy all our days
But for those who are willing
God offers another chance
to live the life He planned
to dance another dance
Though we don't deserve it
He is eager to erase
every misplaced footstep
through His amazing grace.

This is a great piece of perceptive writing...gives more questions than answers. The questions I often ask myself are all here...I love the previous comment too...I am so guilty when i try to kill a fly.
Wonderful work, bookmark and applause, and i will often meditate on this poem.

Eli The PoetBay support member heart!
I think we all deserve it; regardless of how our paths transpire. I reached toward Heaven before, after changing my mind about murdering a fly. It seems the fly knew, and raced out the door that I had opened in mercy. I instinctively looked up and said Thank You, for even with something that might appear so small, the spirit is still redeemed.

I wish my relationships with humans could be as compassionate as it became with the fly, but it's not always that easy when dealing with the complexity of the human being, which leads me to figure that no one really is to blame.

We exist to love, although sadly it has become an action that most of us have to re learn. And that's why I believe God exists (even in my own formless idea of God), to show us a path to the light that is always kindled in our hearts.

Thank You for sharing these thoughts, I really do appreciate them... and, apologies for my essayed comment.
