soul to soul
After Thoughts
If you take a piece of me
and leave there a hole,
Would then I take a piece of you
to make the emptiness whole?
And if I should give to you
the shredded hopes I hold,
Would you then give to me
the strength to make them bold?
If inside this body lies
shadows of an untouched soul,
Would you then take the perfection
and offer it to be sold?
And if I should cry unto you,
there beyond the starless night,
Would you see me stand in the rain,
as the storms purge through my eyes?
If I fell into the watery abyss
and left my song unsung,
Would you then hear the Aria
before the music comes undone?
