Alone in the Cold...
Thinking of taking the easy way out,
With tears on my face and a heavy soul.
Wanting to yell and scream and shout
To one like me, crying softly in the cold.
We live in pain and haunted emotion,
Like driftwood gray and smoothly worn
Carried in time from waves on this ocean,
To waken our minds and thoughts so torn.
As the eastern wind paints waves white,
And throws sand into our burning eyes,
Hold my life tightly this darkened night
As this ocean swallows my saddened tears.
Shaking and saddened this solemn night,
Writing words in the sky with my soul,
I offer my love and my tears this night,
To the survivor left alone in the cold.
