Fire going since 8 am. Burning up the words of my life
Burning words
literally millions
cinder-dry dead letters
files and files
emptied gutted
page by page
fed into the fire
curling lip at me
there they go
the loveletters
the hateletters
the I told you so letters
the we are sorry to hear letters
the reports and feedbacks
the busines deals
and inane tombstones from authorities
the manuals
ah the manuals
for educating schemes
outdated before the print was dry
the notes from thousand hours teaching
the copies of a thousand articles
printed and sometimes regretted
the notes from endless hours in the classrooms
as student
as teacher
the floundered business ideas
the spoken or unspoken dreams
that never saw the light of day
all smoldering
all ashley grey
all gone
but the flames
the heat behind them
returned to the sky
from which they came
and the October sun seems
just a little warmer
not much
but still
a little
my word!
isn't that nice
my words finally
gave even me
some comfort
