Heart 4 Ever

I've given you my heart
many times as we've gone
my red one with equal sides
the one children paint in school
the one we've materialized
a so small gift with so great value
its worth more than diamonds
the mass is greater than gold
you can't buy it, it can't be sold
you can only receive it out of love

I've given you my heart
the one carved into the tree
the tree by the river
with our names carved beside it
and below it carved forever

But that heart changed shape as we grew
it doesn't share the same purpose as before
that little pretty heart with cupids arrow
became a pumping beating vital part of us
and I can't carve my heart for you anymore

But I'll give you my heart if you ever need it
the doctor will have to carve it out for me
cause hes the painter of real hearts
and he will bring it to you in your need
if yours would ever get a chance to stop

a so small gift with so great value
its worth more than diamonds
the mass is greater than gold
you can't buy it, it can't be sold
you can only receive it out of love

And I'll have a marble worker carve my name
it wont be on tree
and it wont be by the river
but underneath my name
there on the grave rock
it will say forever.
