This is based on a song that I heard today entitled I Wonder if God Likes Country Music, by Bill Anderson.

We all Applauded!

We all applauded when the old man finished playing his guitar solo for us.

None of the band members would play with him.

They thought an old man like that wouldn't be able to play or at least not very well.

Finally I loaned him my guitar and stepped to one side.

Now that old man could really play and sing too.

He began playing and singing.

Man—I'm telling you!

Right before our eyes –he turned young again.

His wrinkles disappeared.

His eyes begin to twinkle and glow like in his youth.

When his song was over, he handed my guitar back to me, and as he walked away I saw that he was just an old man again. We all applauded his playing again as he walked on out of sight, and unfortunately out of our lives.

I think music will soothe the soul of all no matter the age :) I liked the way this was written and it made me want to know more about this rejuvenated old man who disappeared. It felt like such a shame this man should be gone when I finished reading the last lines. Very effective write. Thanks for this glimpse. :fm xx

A great story Damon. You never know the treasures hidden inside we old folk. Remember, we've had a long time and many opportunities to collect them. And I think God used to like country music, when it wasn't pop.
