Recently a boy of 20, Emra Gezer, as he had just begun singing in Kurdish, was shot dead in a restaurant in Ankara by a former police officer. "A burning fire in my heart" was all he got to sing before murdered.
"A burning fire in my heart"
Now when you can not, I'll sing
I`ll continue your song
A burning fire in our hearts!
Our village, our forest, our home on fire
Bullets and bombs raining at our people
a fire that can't be put out:
in our hearts.
I promise:
I'll sing now when you can not
You sang half the song
now I'll sing the rest
