I have written this thank you note for all my friends in college as my course nears the end and farewell is drawing close. It feels sad leaving everyone. But it is good to know that I found people who touched my life and made a difference.
The canopied lanes beckoned me
And the pristine gothic cathedral gave an irresistible tug
The breeze that blew from tree to tree
Welcomed me with the most desired hug.
My heart beat faster and faster still
With every single footfall
And I kept clinging to the smallest prayer
That I should be able to take in all.
And when I finally found the faces
In whose hearts I wanted a place for me
I saw myself in a crowd
And felt, that's where I could never be.
But as the days have flown by
And has brought me to the edge to leave
I look back to the day I walked in
And find no reasons to grieve.
I have found faces here
That have flashed so many smiles at me
And the biggest and warmest hearts
Where I can forever be.
