This poem is a memory of a recent trip to Mahabalipuram, a sea-side resort...
The sea looked very peaceful from afar
And the brine laden breeze called me near
The golden sand spread warmth thru' a mere touch
As I put my feet on the shore.
O! A foretaste of heaven!
The calmness, the tranquility
The call and the welcome.
But as I stepped into the waters
It overwhelmed me with its turbulence
Trying to soak me in its sea-ness.
O! If I could be as the sea!
And then I saw a huge wave
Running forward to consume me
Untamed and without a care
Of how madly my heart was beating.
I screamed as the wave touched me
And then,
I was drowned in its pure awesomeness.
