Cows, Calf, Reptiles and Whale

The Earth Offers It's Soil:

Black suede cows and calf

alone on the range

graze on the ground they'll go back to

through journeys of

screeching, oozing life's pink paths.

All around this town

James Brown white

dancers dance on ice.

They fall and laugh.

James is an easy listen for a white dancer.

Not for me,though.

Not for me:

"I'm BLACK and I'm PROUD!"

All around this town

James Brown white

dancers dance on ice

They fall, laugh and insult easily.

Reigning reptiles regale

the country's trees with their

tales, tails, tales, tails:

slimy slithers and cordially

cracking, plastered croaks.

They slip and cough

when they go back to the ground

from which they came

screeching, crying and screaming

in pink provided paths.

All around this dance

James Brown singers sing on memories.

They fall and laugh.

The Sea Offers It's Fountains:

Winsome white whales:

blowing alone in seas of decrees.

They beach themselves

for all their blood to see

sometimes

No ground to go back to

they wind their spines in majestic

mortality, peaceful in their whale's

wave.

Finit.

This so interesting. I've read it several times and it illicits something different each time I read it. It makes me think of the better lyrics of the psychedelic period in a way, stimulating, but leaving much open to the imagination.
Thanks, Nick
