I saw this leaf sprouting out of a crevice in a wall, and marvelled at its instinct for survival! It set me thinking...
Out of a Crevice in the Wall...
Spotting that leaf, peeping out of a crevice in the wall...
Watching life emerging in the bleakest of circumstances,
Pushing its way out in the most unlikely of times, in
Most unlikely place - trying, persevering and never giving up!
I marvel at its endavour, at its spirit, to survive, to live!
It must have weathered all the storms, it must have faced
Frosts and gales, it must have tried to reach the earth,
And find the soft soil, that would nurture it well,
But, it was not to be, and the time was short; so,
With no help forth coming... it decided to sprout,
There, where it found the place - the crevice in a wall...
And so are we, the human beings, with all the will to live,
We can survive in bleakest of times, in hunger and in famine!
In times hard, full of strife, we survive - only if
we find it in us to try; to fight; to face squarely,
to live up to it, against all odds,
against all trials and tribulation-
Only if?
Because, the human spirit, is
insurmountable!
