Sometimes it's essential to make that call, but sometimes you're not strong enough to endure.

Not in your league

We got acquainted through a friend
And you came on to me
I didn't object, I thought you were cool
I remembered it well.

Now that I have looked you up
There's only one way to go
I wanna call you and take you out
But I found it wasn't too smart
Not in your league,
Oh, no, I'm not in your league.

Don't want to put myself down that's not the case
Just some foolish pride
I wonder how, could I fit in
In your life again.

You seem to be on another level
And me, I'm the same old rebel
An outcast struggling for life and care
And you are well off and well aware.

I took up the phone, dialed your number
Waited for your voice to say hello
One ring went through, but I hang up the phone
Was too afraid to get your no.

Now that I have looked you up
There's only one way to go
I couldn't make it, I was too yellow
To receive a laughing no.
Not in your league,
Oh, no, I'm not in your league.
