Cage of Mirrors
You see me through the slits of my prisonHalf hidden in the obscurity of my inner self
Look past the reflective glass, and the image projected
The reality is in there dejected, protected, relented, unaffected.
Splinters are held in place by fear, and doubt
Its viscocity binds the truth, binds the tune...
A tune of sorrow bellows, from the prison
The song is morose doleful, hopeful, woeful, muffled.
See these hands that craft the wounds self inflicted,
See the plans upon the mirror, that are hidden but yet reflected?
Oh! Cage of Mirrors, I hurt
Oh! Cage of Mirrors, I delight
Oh! Cage of Mirrors, I belong
Oh! Cage of Mirrors, I will reflect, recollect, protect and affect my song
