A WISH

There's no free space
it's impossible to grow
here crammed with weeds

no room for flowers even
behind the windows now sighing
for a little sun and fresh air

if they could bury
the garbage of years and
give the peonies a chance

chasingtheday The PoetBay support member heart!
the garbage of years, aye it is building up and up, though quite a lot of garbage is not bio degradable so even burying it would not give the chance.

This is such a wonderful poem. Its strength is in the three short stanzas with their three short lines. So much has been said. Each word seems to have been perfectly chosen.

I feel this way too, there is indeed a whole lot of garbage we need to get rid of in order to grow.
A very beatifully composed poem!
Thanks!
