Written at a time when i was too afraid of what the future may bring to enjoy the present.

But to be foolish and reckless

But to be foolish and reckless
Let go of the one thing that excites
That which has made me content
Happy and mesmerized and carefree
Savouring every moment and freezing it
Hold it still in mind that it may last
An eternity dare not be enough
Ah! But to be foolish and reckless

But to be foolish and reckless
Still in memory of times past
When restlessness bore down on me
And my heart was in hunger
My mind constantly criticizing
Hating everyone and what they sought
Daring give no one a chance in
Ah! But to be foolish and reckless

But to be foolish and reckless
And care to be but hopeful
That I shall proceed from here
Release all that pleasure and joy
That had come by my way
For fear that my past shall recur
Find my self in pain alone
Ah! But to be foolish and reckless

Zoya Zaidi
Ah! To be foolish and reckless!
What a charming line it is!
What a charming thought it is!
You know there is couplet in Urdu,
Written by the famous Iqbal for you:
"It is nice to keep the mind as guard,
Over a reckless heart!
But let the heart be, sometimes,
Free off the sentinel of mind!"

(((Hugs dear Kat, give vent to your feelings of heart!)))))))
((((((Hugs dear Kat, go ahead~don't fret!)))))))

Love, xxx, Zoya
