The cancer community.
Survivors
We do not stand alone,
nor far apart;
nor shoulder to shoulder,
but heart to heart.
We do not cry alone
when grief is deep,
we shed tears in company,
not ashamed to weep.
We laugh and love
and dare life to end;
we can not break,
and so we bend.
We learn how to take
what has to be taken;
and create a new normal
head high, unshaken.
