A sensual exploration of love.

Summer Love

 We spoke softly in tones of idle chatter,
discussing nothing that really mattered;
our voices blending in gentle murmur,
keeping cadence with summer thunder.
Finally we dozed, arms 'round each other,
in spirit harmony, needing nothing further;
content just to breathe in common flow;
a rhythm of the ages, soft and slow.
As rain pelted the leaves overhead
and soaked into our mossy earth bed,
we were released from the heat of day;
our bodies cooled, there where we lay.
Clouds would part and stars would glow
before awareness would once again grow;
and waking, our passion rose to new heights,
as we loved away the damp summer night.
