Waiting for something that may arrive or perhaps not is like prolonging the possibility of a surprise.

Waiting For Bits

When we wait, all the best bits are taken.
So we try again and wait some more.
Then bits arrive and our senses awaken.
I ordered six bits ...arrived only four.

Now bits and pieces make a nice whole.
But you need to be warned of consequences
Those bits and pieces are the heart that you stole.
I waited too long, now we darken our senses.

So why all the angst, and pity and pain?
Waiting for Godot while we walked in the rain.
The smiles, the laughter, the pull of the chain.
Perhaps waiting for bits will happen again.
