Emotional Math
When the night was so cold,I slept by the fire
Waiting for little more than the light
That I hoped would arrive to wash
Away the pain and demented dreams of the night.
On a Thursday, I think, I knew that life
And my dilapidated body and soul
Could weather the Dead inside my gut and mind...
Permanence and simple emotional math
Taught me about patience, love, and being kind.
