Glass Egg?

I've not much to say about Faberge
But Rene Lalique was quite unique
He didn't sit on his arse
He made things out of glass

I agree with you. Faberge's eggs were the epitome of ostentatious excess . . . Lalique's crystal captured in his art and craft the fragile clarity of the beauty he saw and shaped, as though he somehow saw into it and through it and revealed it in the transparency of his glass.
