INVALID TITLE
I put on the coat of night
and walk after you
your shadow hips are mesmerizing
they bring me upon the light
your phosphorescent self
pulls me closer
the air is bursting
and the violence of the rain is real
I close my eyes
and lean into the arms of your promises
I am like a firefly
in a tunnel of black ravens
I am like a current
towards an inevitable destiny
----------------------------------------------------
your promise turned out to be as evanescent
as the wet foot prints on the pavement
-----------------------------------------------------
but I won't surrender
I will paint your diamond eyes
in all unthinkable colors
I will give you straws
with blackberries upon
I will count the stars
to face our eternity
I will caress your conditioned hair
breathe fog on your cheek
grab the pliers
and rip your tongue out
so you cannot lie again
then you and I can fall asleep to the vague crackling sounds of the night.
