Great work i just had to share
Better you, not me!
Better you not me!
The chant from the crowd running through the street
Let us to the tree!
Let us to the tree!
After man- hunting down who I choose to be
Alike in mind, and similar in ways
Yet poison filled words soak the quill as it sprays
Onto the arrow of hypocrisy, aimed at the brave
For doing what the heart tells them to- Viewed as misbehave
Escort me to my final resting place on breath alone
As the chants grow louder to a deathly tone
Body language gossips at a deafly moan
Of a plot only wanting to behead- dethrone
We have reached the tree!
We have reached the tree!
As they lay me down on the tongue of hypocrisy
Above me a pointed Finger from across the see
Stretching from as far as their thoughts could reach
They tie me to the Finger of Blame, pointing to the accused
With not a flicker of shame, with not a clue of truth
You see its easier this way, burning splints in the eye
Of someone else's mistakes, letting their own hide
Better me than you...
Better me than you...
I have lived a life of freedom, I set free the bloom
I have retired the rule of judgment to He who sees the doom
I will hang freely for my belief, yet to see you soon
For you are like me, both in ways and traits
However you choose to hide it, for it says disgrace
But you follow in my footsteps, the same pace you trace
Hypocrite, for you... the same fate awaits!
