Ash of Day
the night is the ash of the day
black and silent
but still there is the glow of dusk
which gives its resigned smile
thus it knows that even though the night is long
the day is soon to come
then the Daybird wakes
and sails the earth
with wings of sky
and enlightens us with
it's pulsating promise
which holds
that whatever has been dark
will be illuminated once more.
