but a complete moment

A Fragment (Rock Springs Woods)

Here and there cloud shadows catch

In water-grass and reeds, then drift

And drag their anchors across

The silted shallows of the pond,

Edging away to a deeper distance.

And there and here the sunfall floats

On sheer shimmers, going and staying,

Reaching down and then lifted up,

Ripples of heat haze and misted light,

The flickering pine a wick of flame . . .
