OMOLAJA speaks

VICTIM OF MARRIAGE 4

'You were born in the midst of confusion'
My mother told me
'You came that night
When I was beaten
And then ravaged by your father
So I named you OMOLAJA
Hoping that your coming
Will stop this torment
But it was just a dream
That won't see the light of day
For things remain thesame'

How I wish
I was not conceived
That I died during pregnancy
That I didn't give that cry at birth
I would have been thrown away
And forgotten

For this pain is to much for me to bear
This anguish is more than I can withstand

Indeed
I am a mistake in the life
The Victim of Marriage

Another victim of marriage? The peace dove is much saddened by this.
And this piece touches her heart in its raw honesty. She cannot imagine the emotional impact of the mother's words, nor the burden of truth bestowed on the listener, but she does in her own way know pain, so while empathy may not be, sympathy is... , and .
A powerful write.
