(a bird may sail;)

Swan Neck Sails

swan neck sails into view

such a set of utter silken lines

offering myself to a glimpse, 'I see.'

Planes, ovals compositions of Sun and Moon

instruments attune my thoughts enter trance

these are deep seas indeed and vast

are the tides rolling in the beautiful blue forever,

so I commenced to observe an impossible Love

everything she said and did I found imploringly good

the way she rolled her rrrrrrr's into elegant cigarettes

holding a book in one hand while contemplating smoky hues

I surely must have rubbed my monocle a time or two

always the deeper under rhythms calling near my inner ear

swimming naked limbs dripping violets from a semi-circular canal

It seems to me now that how she moved made the weather quick and wild

seeing how her hair flew

swan neck sails into view...

I like the way this builds, and the last few lines are surprising and original, the images along the way (the rolled up cigarette for example) are the touches that make this vivid.
