The Wake of Light


In a nest of sleep she dreams of light
feathers full of  warm south winds
of islands bright and welcoming
where all her friends return to sing:

within the sweep of her flashing plumes
cradling currents of rushing air
zephyrs dressing her long bright hair


other worlds circle like birds the night

through mystic signs winding their way

universal flight on display

for they whom may see, what they may

just as forever glides into sight,

in a nest of dreams she wakes to Light,

the night...

I like this piece very much, my friend.
The imagery is beautiful and the tone serene yet haunting, especially in the penultimate line.
