They Escaped The Weight of Darkness

It was a cold night, a dry and dead world
Unheeded by the humans, the nature's weapon unfurled
Waking up the beast, the misty demon's lair
The face of Mother Earth, marred by their glare

And the weak the ugly, the worst of the lot
Against a stronger race, did fight
Demons and Nature, an unending clash
Each with their attacks, showing their might

A furious rage the demons did show
Earth's power wouldn't see, the light of tomorrow
Or was it just a hustler's game
To let them win and get some fame

Demons began to get strong, stronger by the minute
And every catastrophic blow, shook the Earth off balance
And POOF! 'twas all over, in less than a jiffy
For as the sun came up, their position didn't seem so pretty

For demons it was white hot heat, for nature a strong aegis
As demons burnt their way to hell, Nature escaped the weight of darkness
