to bee or not
I never once understood the attractionwhite lilies at a funeral
offering up their pollen
flamboyantly
with an ulterior motive
to bees going about their business
yet with cut throats
frozen plastic tokens
of a defunct virgin mother
not for the mourner
if indeed mourner
but the witnesses
I brought white lilacs
out of season
out of country
out of mind
and memory
