dandelion attitude

yellow like the sun

in a kindergarten aquarelle

in lawns or through concrete

saffron powder on inquisitive noses
white sap staining

offering its middle finger to the laundromat

edible greens with tattered edges

mowed supine and clinging to the soil
with deep roots

but their children dance against the summer sky

floating

twirling lace parasolls

leaving us behind

Another finely crafted poem about the much maligned dandelion. You have some very original and striking imagery here, especially the line about the white sap, a characteristic of the plant that only an astute observer would notice. And the image of the floating children at the end is glorious.
