Lost - that is...

now with missing stanzas...

My only love (for music)

Evening shades cling and clutch
Too tall and all too much
I've seen and long to touch

My only love..

Folly and foolish things
My fond imaginings
No love-lorn longing brings

My only love..

No rapport - no respite
Brushed off I comb the night
No roaming makes it right

My only love

Through the past up the stair
Your essence fills the air -
I reach but you're not there

My only love

Life or death - can't decide
One sigh from suicide
Leaves me to long denied

My only love...

Very haunting, my friend.
Excellent rhymings and an interesting rhythm, punctuated effectively by the refrain. I wonder what music plays to you on this occasion; I seem to hear dolorous harps.
I applaud gently, saddened by a loss with which I empathise all too well.
