unspoken jars
hoarding words
for another day
for snappier comebacks
pickling phrases
acid retorts
bittersweet farewells
for nothing
and no one
words unused
sentences and poems
unsung
like forgotten jars
of beetles
collected in summer meadows
their air holes
clogged up
dead and stale
on a numb tongue
