Tanka

This sky stitched with stars

Needle-points of light threading

Desire and despair

In the frayed fabric of sleep

Dreams darkly unraveling

I'm with Elle. Quite often, one is tempted to write too much, but short poems often say too little. In this case, you've gracefully said just the right amount.

Beautiful, my friend.
I admire particularly your sustaining of the imagery throughout the piece, while the contrast of 'light threading' and 'darkly unraveling' is very well suited to this form.
Applause!

Very evocative, I often have been disappointed with tanka's but this quite surpasses as the imagery for me, really stood out - loved - the sky stiched with stars
