Anyone can be enlightened. (www.thepoetrylounge.co.uk)
Cheap cider blurs and tobacco stains his constant hum,
Oscar the ferret, chews on his hat collecting coins,
I glance his scruffy sign, in big, black uneven scrawl,
I look down,
he looks up;
with a smile that surpasses his eyes,
"when you realise nothing is lacking,
the whole world belongs to you",
without dropping dollar signs, I nod a realised goodbye,
I have just met Jesus on a park bench.

Kings Amongst Men
The sun sets on his Nirvana; a dustless urban horizon,Cheap cider blurs and tobacco stains his constant hum,
Oscar the ferret, chews on his hat collecting coins,
I glance his scruffy sign, in big, black uneven scrawl,
I look down,
he looks up;
with a smile that surpasses his eyes,
"when you realise nothing is lacking,
the whole world belongs to you",
without dropping dollar signs, I nod a realised goodbye,
I have just met Jesus on a park bench.
