The Braveheart of India. Jyoti Singh Pandey.
She could have been my sister. In my heart she is.
India's Daughter Jyoti
You are my sister, I am in grief
I cannot make my sorrow leave.
They took your life, your fertility
And if it wasn't just enough they killed you
They threw you out of the bus, naked in the street
and if it wasn't just enough they tried to run over you.
You had it all planned, studied to doctor
Helping your family, care about your brothers.
But all changed that night, the horror was complete
when those bastards violated even your dreams.
India, it's your responsibility
to protect your women and never let it be.
Make their homes secure, the streets at night.
Your women should be safe, no fear no fright.
You have to do it now, tomorrow is too late
The whole world is watching you and the people cannot wait.
You were my sister, I am in grief
I cannot make my sorrow leave.
