...just listen to her heart speaking.

AGAIN LAST NIGHT (I LISTENED)

Again last night as a dimmed candle
The moon wears her borrowed veil
An open ear knows the cure
So I bookmark all suggestions

She sang a song of past regrets
Fears of the darkness unknown
And how her bed's monster bowed
Leaving time waisted thus fleeting

You should know the heart of another
Their secrets not much of a secret at all
If you'll pay attention to the melody
Her tone will tell you she needs holding

Sometime words play dirty tricks
Saying what they don't mean
While forgetting to mention the truth
In full clover and peppermint we sigh

Last night the moon and sun embraced
The stars tossed about like confetti
A chocolate Milky Way filled our glass
We drank from the same river flowing

Again last night
Again last night
Again last night I listened

Again last night
Again last night
Again last night she spoke freely

The opening stanza was so laden with goodness it dripped onto the other stanzas until the poem ended. Righteous! Thanks for this one too - Applauded.
