Ropes of Our Choices

We spiral in the abyss of our demise,
tugging, pulling on the ropes of our choices,
thinking we have the answers and are all wise,
while listening to our own foolish voices.

Creating our own bondage, we tighten the ropes,
tangling ourselves into unyielding insanity.
We are struggling for freedom while becoming
voracious victims in the guise of humanity.

From marionettes to monarchs we strive to become.
Wrapping ourselves up into deadly cocoons,
we squelch the light of freedom's flight,
resulting in the certainty of our own doom.

We hold ourselves captive in our quest to be gods.
Imprisoned by closing the True Opened Door,
we are chained to the dungeon of haughtiness,
sacrificing any chances to actually soar.
