Tea Time For The Birds

Once there was an island in the center of a sea
Where all the birds would gather for morning toast and tea,
When the sun spread it's wings of golden rose
Calling all the sleepy heads to get up,
A feathered crew gathered to preen and pose
Out there to share some crumbs and drink a cup,
With pelicans as butlers, bills stuffed with fishy treats
The gulls would sing and clap their wings bustling to their seats,
While finches swiftly darted and swifts took sugar just a pinch
Budgies stood in line still and stolid and never budged an inch,
And oh what of those gracious penguins in splendid formal tails
Whom tucked their eggs betwixt their toes whilst juggling sardines and snails,
I suppose  those and many more met contentedly
Once there on an island in the center of a sea

i'd say this poem was for the birds, but i'm not sure they can read. sounds like a fantastic party. i think i'll crash it. *goes to find some feathers.

What a charming piece to read, my friend, at the end of a fraught sort of day. The scene is set wonderfully and I love the attention to detail concerning all the dear birds :>)
Applause!
