Notions of Freedom

"When freedom becomes mechanical, when all worth is balanced on a scale of greed, and the fight is no longer worth fighting...then all is truly lost."

Notions of Freedom by Theresa Cecilia Garcia

Contracts might be made to hold,
but nobody cares what becomes of them.

Patriotic phrases come precise
to polite tongues, without slightest interest.

Solemn words fail to lift
the agony of depression, so natural to man.

Inability receives scant attention,
humanity has no value, except that
to what can be aquired.

Liberty is freedom but that is mechanical,
many pay an outrageous price.

Drenched materialism key-notes moments,
of false statements that obscure
natural reason.

Holiness requires the ecstasy of The Fall
which usually comes
with bland , judicious smiles.

Turning native good-will
into crookedness
with fluffy elegance and paralyzed deprivation
of social order...

We stand united,
We stand proud,
preserving marketable integrity
with those who say...

The fight isn't worth fighting
anymore.
