it is more than an inconvenience
when a physicist finds infinities
haunting his calculations

honesty stands guard
over the whitening bones
of plausible theories
washed up
on the rugged cliffs of logic

it is more than an inconvenience
when a philosopher finds infinities
haunting his calculations

reason stands guard
over the whitening bones
of antiquated metaphysics
dragged down
into the quicksand of semantics

it is more than an inconvenience
when a prophet finds infinities
haunting his calculations

power stands guard
over the whitening bones
of honesty and reason
sacrificed
to the 'ghost in the machine'
