As a part of my participation in a training campaign in Vancouver, named Badasht, I wrote some poetry. This poem is the second of these, written 5th July 2013. It explores our role as youth in changing the world.
avoidance of boredom
Our senses dulled to the deafening call
"Arise!"
To take a step is to listen
To throw our lives before His Will
ceaselessly searching for confirmation
Reflecting, committing, steeling ourselves for a life of service
Is to pass beyond mere believing
Becoming experimenters, learners, implementers,
inspirers, upholders, defenders
lovers
Of the vision that propels
the bewildered masses towards its high destiny

Badasht: The Responsibility on the Shoulders of the Youth
Busily engaged in hobbies, fancies, avoidance of boredom
Our senses dulled to the deafening call
"Arise!"
To take a step is to listen
To throw our lives before His Will
ceaselessly searching for confirmation
Reflecting, committing, steeling ourselves for a life of service
Is to pass beyond mere believing
Becoming experimenters, learners, implementers,

lovers
Of the vision that propels
