bus ride on a rainy morning

strangers gather round on the bus
a man in a long trench coat
looks like something from the fifties
a salesman in long black sleek pants
with a crease down the middle
and he has on fine leather shoes

and it's all dark and gloomy outside

Hey Thomas, long time....
I imagine how the rain painted their day :-)

I like the tone here

and the stark imagery

and way you phrase your lines

I guess that means

I like everything

When I first began working (almost fifty years ago now) I rode the bus and over time there came a kind of camaraderie among those of us who did it every day, knowing nothing really of each other than the hour we shared twice a day, and the fascination we shared about those who came into our little community only once or a week, getting off at stops we didn't know as we rode on to the end of the line. Thanks for remionding me of some good memories of a simpler time.

I like this type of word picture. It leaves the reader the opportunity to build the scenario in any way they choose. Well written.
