Green Tights and Fairy Wings

Today, I held Mimi
all of 4 hours old
a cloud of dusky hair,
she resolutely would not
open her eyes.

Today I bought Mimi
her fourth birthday present,
green tights and some wings
I sourced from a friend
who stages pantomimes.

Today I picked up Mimi
she was sulky and twelve,
I took her to a lingerie shop,
sheer devilment really
I promised her a bra
and told her how I kept
my first bra hidden under my pillow.

Mimi is getting married,
Mimi is having her first baby
Mimi is getting divorced,

Mimi is happy again,
we have cake and coffee
her years are my years,
I dandle a little girl
with green tights
and fairy wings

The life of Mimi and the cycle of life carrying on beyond Mimi... from the perspective of the witness... and the witness realizing all of it familiar to their own life... gives the feeling that the two lives are just a repetition of the same life in some manner... and that perhaps it'll be the same for the third one... loved the way this unraveled... so very good :)

That's one hellava title and well worth the read, oh time just races, I enjoyed the line , "her years are my years."

Oh how well you weave the atmospheres of time textural framed in your own richly talented poetic craftings.
