Love is not for the timid and timid
It's for the strong and enduring
For those who can be patient with themselves and those they love
For the deliberate
For the fools
Like you and I

Falling in love is scary

Falling in love is scary
You think of this person all the time
And you wonder when you'll hear from them again
Or see them

Every time the phone rings
Or a text message comes in
Your heart skips a beat
Thinking, hoping it could be them

You wonder if they think of you with the same intensity
If the feeling is mutual

If they can comprehend how critical a part of your world they are
How one word or gesture from them can make your day
Set you up on cloud nine just like that

Or on the other hand
How some of their actions or omissions,
In word or deed
Or silence
Or delay or failure to communicate
Can make your world crumble
Bring it to stand still
Paralyze operations
Put you in limbo
Drown your rainbow
Until reassurance is received
That their heart beats for you
As yours beats for them

Love is not for the timid and timid
It's for the strong and enduring
For those who can be patient with themselves and those they love
For the deliberate

For the fools
Like you and I

Thanks Ashe! Yes, it's like a drug, and you can buy it off the shelf at some pharmacy!

You got it! It's like a disease or a curse. Maybe it's like taking an addictive drug, where you are always waiting for the next dose, or a word, a call, a note, a letter, a visit. Life seems to rotate around the thought of one person. The lack of any of those things can weaken us to the point of immobility. It's no wonder we are afraid of it: The love virus!

Love your writing.
