WHAT IF I CUT MYSELF?

I fell without falling
Doubt caught me
Fear almost let me go
Flowers needing water

I tripped over my thoughts
A jump rope doubled up
I went with the flow
Sugar sweet sweat to drink

What if I cut myself?
Blood flowing freely
To the death of me
Would you drink to satisfy?

Say boy, what if I cut myself?
Would you call 911 or whisper
Four, one, one spreading rumors
Lies, the truth of the matter

Last begging for first
The question remains
Laughter wants to save
I wish mouth to mouth

Unsteady on both feet
I lay down for you boy
Your salmon swims upstream
Sugar sweet sweat I drink

What if I cut myself?
Blood flowing freely
To the death of me
Would you drink to satisfy?

Say boy, what if I cut myself?
Would you call 911 or whisper
Four, one, one spreading rumors
Lies, the truth of the matter

What if I cut myself
Cut myself real deep
What if I cut myself
Romamtically put to sleep

Real deep
Real deep
Real deep
I cut myself

Nabeela Altaf
This is an achingly sad poem.
