ICE WATER
Fox trotting and exploringDouble knots seen ignoring
My slacks one inch plus cuffs
Caught as you called my bluff
Witty by the crease of neatness
On the same page we're a mess
Fear has nothing to do but tease
Caught on replay thank ya please
Twenty-twenty exposed your face
A mental photograph framed in lace
Brown eyes fixed trust persecuted
Limbs on edge, a pillar's post executed
Ice water ran from my pores
Closed shut tenderly I adore
Three years ago vultures tore
Ice water
Forgiveness never kept score
Much of the same not any more
Ice water ran from my pores
Ice water
What was broken isn't sore
Devotion is hope waiting for
Ice water ran from my pores
Ice water
The likeness of me in your summer
Suger and no sweet, a real bummer
We take a deep breath to trust again
You capture me as I skillfully detain
Refined, tried and through the fire
This our common bond hating a liar
If the dice are loaded time will tell
Departure stood free enroute to hell
Twenty-twenty exposed your face
A mental photograph framed in lace
Brown eyes fixed trust persecuted
Limbs on edge, a pillar's post executed
Ice water
Cool and refreshing
Ice water
My glass trickles
Ice water
Comforts the soul
Ice water
Please take a sip
