Long After
I will still smile,
listen to songs,
that first leaf
of autumn, caught.
I'll still remember
jokes shared
and meals cooked,
the sourness of wine
on summer ledges.
I will remember
all and naught,
relegate to
distant banks
that grow with
rue and regret;
Long after,
so long after.
