that old familiar unfamiliarity
the sound of a box-fanrunning at full speed
by the bed,
it's nearly midnight,
and i'm exhausted!
the experience of new things:
an unfamiliar surrounding,
visiting a new city,
moving into a new place,
a new flatmate,
even the simple act
of moving the trash-can at home -
creates an experience of newness,
unfamiliarity
i remember when i got my first place,
i ate at a local sandwich shoppe
every night after work for a while -
standing at the end of the dock,
observing the movements of the river,
i felt peace, i felt power
(anything can happen from here,
i'm diving into the unknown)
the sound of a box-fan
running at full speed
by the bed,
it's nearly midnight,
and i'm exhausted!
