DEAD SONGS WALKING

Gravesite parades half jubilee
Saw her bouquet, roses in white
Pretty in the form of real beautiful
No thought to make mental notes

Hot flames of fire were waiting
Snakes on the prowl no mistaken
The clock clicked ticking time out
Doom a winner had plenty of clout

Funeral music sang so alluring
Everyone stood in the trance
Fancy drinks and spicy barbecue
When death arises what do ya do

Dead songs walking
Angels hold back their tears
Did her composer see this coming?
What was that tune she kept humming?
Hints silently talking the talk
Dead songs walking

Jokers playing fifty words or less
Duces wild unsure so they guess
Why would beauty sleep in a dress
Sexy came back under much stress

Their reptile fangs spider her web
Remains of the past, societies deb
Six feet undertows losing its ebb
Rules for the dying two-step by step

Church music praise past memories
Family and friends release yesterday
Painted smiles with food for thought
Ninety nine on the chart no one bought

Dead songs walking
Angels hold back their tears
Did her composer see this coming?
What was that tune she kept humming?
Hints silently talking the talk
Dead songs walking

Dead songs walking
Angels stop talking
Dead songs walking

Dead songs walking
Heaven fast asleep
Dead songs walking

Nabeela Altaf
I love the chorus! This poem is dark, sinister and beautiful. Tunes could play wonders.
